Tungsten carbide rotary burrs, made of high-quality tungsten carbide material, also called tungsten steel rotary file; High-speed alloy steel rotary file, made of high-quality high-speed alloy steel material. Usually used with a high-speed electric grinder or air-driven tools. Can be used for a variety of operational needs, such as processing cast iron, cast steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, copper and aluminum, etc. So, what types of tungsten carbide rotary burrs are available?

Here is the content list:

l Shape classification

l Edge tooth classification

l Size classification

Shape classification

General tungsten carbide rotary burrs can be divided into the above 19 shapes, the most commonly used are cylindrical, spherical, flame-headed, etc. Most domestic letters such as A, B, C, etc. directly indicate each shape, while foreign countries are usually abbreviated by letters ZYA, KUD, RBF, etc.

Edge tooth classification

Usually, single-edge pattern tooth shape tungsten carbide rotary burrs are more suitable for soft non-ferrous metals, plastics, soft high tensile steel, or hardwood processing operations, while crossed tooth pattern is more suitable for hard materials to produce higher cutting performance, such as cast iron, cast steel, glass fiber plastic materials made of workpiece grinding operations. Each shape of the tungsten carbide rotary burrs can be selected according to the specific operational needs of the tooth shape of the blade, the general international standard tooth shape can be referred to as the above six. Among them, each tooth shape is applicable:

1. Tooth pattern for aluminum: Especially for aluminum alloy, brass, magnesium, and other soft metals, due to its wide tooth spacing, is conducive to the rapid removal of cutting.

2. Coarse tooth pattern: Recommended for soft materials such as bronze, tin, zinc, pure copper, and other materials that can be easily machined.

3. Medium tooth pattern/standard tooth pattern: Suitable for machining all kinds of steel (including tempered steel), cast steel, and almost all metal materials. The surface finish of this profile is excellent and the machining efficiency is relatively high.

4. Diamond shape: This tooth profile is suitable for machining high-alloy steel, stainless steel, magnesium alloy, gray cast iron, and zirconium-nickel steel, and is effective in avoiding adverse phenomena caused by the crushing of chips during operation.

5. Dense tooth pattern: Suitable for finishing and other machining operations with high surface quality requirements, especially for tempered steels with Rockwell hardness (HRC) of 66 or less.

6. Cross tooth pattern: This type of tooth shape is suitable for all kinds of metal materials (including tempered steel and corrosion-resistant materials), and it is easy to control the operation with less vibration during processing.

Size classification

The choice of tungsten carbide rotary burrs size is mainly based on the head diameter Dc and shank diameter D2, where the head edge diameter L2 and overall length L1 can be selected according to the specific operational needs.

1. Standard type tungsten carbide rotary burrs: This kind of shank length is the common specification of work, the shank diameter (D2) mainly has 3mm, 6mm, 8mm, and also 2.35mm can be chosen.

2. Micro-rotary file: The head diameter of this kind of tungsten carbide rotary burrs is small, and the diameter of the shank is 3mm, because of its high concentricity, so it is more suitable for trimming precision station parts, etc.

3. Extended shank tungsten carbide rotary burrs: This kind of shank length can be selected according to the special working conditions, generally used at 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, or 300mm, especially suitable for processing difficult to contact or deeper areas. The longer the shank is, the better it is, because too long will cause a certain vibration during the grinding operation, thus affecting the operation effect.
