It was found that the tensile and yield strengths of tungsten spheres decreased with increasing temperature, and the elongation and section shrinkage of the material increased and then decreased. The analysis of the fracture characteristics of the specimens showed that the plasticity of tungsten grains increased at 400-600°C and the ability of the material to coordinate deformation increased, and when the temperature was higher than 700°C, the toughness of the material decreased significantly due to the dynamic recrystallization and softening of the bonded phase.

At present, the research on tungsten alloy cutting mainly focuses on the influence of process parameters and tool materials on macroscopic properties such as surface morphology and roughness of tungsten alloy balls, while less research has been conducted on their microstructure evolution, mechanical property changes, and cutting mechanisms. According to the results of foreign studies, the material removal rate was increased by a factor of three, and the surface roughness of the machined workpiece was reduced compared with the conventional cooling conditions.

And Chinese scholars conducted cutting tests on tungsten spheres by ultrasonic vibration dry turning and investigated the effect of cutting tungsten alloy with different tool materials, tool wear patterns, and cutting and vibration parameters on the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of the machined workpiece. It was found that the wear resistance of carbide tools was better than that of coated tools.
