How to cut tungsten carbide rod？

Tungsten Carbide Rod (TCR), as a high hardness and wear-resistant tungsten carbide material, is widely used in the fields of CNC cutting tools, drills, mold making, wear-resistant parts, and so on. However, precisely because of the extreme hardness of tungsten carbide rod, its cutting process is relatively complicated and difficult for ordinary tools.

Diamond wheel cutting is the most common cutting method, suitable for batch processing. High-speed cutting machine + diamond cutting blade with water-cooling system, high efficiency and low cost;

EDM wire cutting (EDM) is suitable for high-precision machining or bars with complex shapes. High cutting precision and no mechanical stress;

Laser cutting (thin material only) is mainly used for micromachining or marking, and is not recommended for cutting large diameter tungsten carbide bars.
