cermet strips
Jinxin
Product Description
Cermet strips typically refer to strip-shaped materials with rectangular or square cross-sections made from cermet. Essentially, cermet is a high-performance material created by combining a ceramic phase (such as aluminum oxide or titanium carbide) with a metallic phase (such as cobalt or nickel) through powder metallurgy processes, combining the high hardness of ceramics with the toughness of metals.
Physical Properties:
Hardness:
Approximately 91–93 HRA (significantly higher than high-speed steel and close to cemented carbide).
Density:
Approximately 6.6 g/cm³ (lighter than tungsten steel, facilitating weight reduction).
Properties:
Good electrical conductivity; suitable for wire EDM machining.

Main Applications and Scenarios of cemet strips:
These strips are typically used as “blanks” and, after processing via wire cutting, grinding, and other methods, are employed to manufacture industrial components that require high wear resistance and high-temperature resistance:
| Application Industry | Specific uses | Performance Advantages |
| Cutting tools | Cutting tools, turning inserts, milling insert substrates | High hardness (HRA 90+), good red hardness (keep hard at high temperatures) |
| Drawing die | Wire drawing dies, cold-drawn tube mandrel heads | Extremely low coefficient of friction, high inner surface finish, and wear resistance |
| Wear-resistant parts | Crusher liners, sealing rings, and guide plates | Corrosion-resistant and impact-resistant, with a service life typically longer than that of ordinary alloy steel |
| Precision die | Stamping dies, inserts for progressive dies | Dimensionally stable and resistant to material adhesion |
